I have been painting since I was 10 years old and was totally self taught until my late 20s. Since that time I have spent a summer semester at the Corcoran Art School and have taken many dozens of courses at the Art League School and the Smithsonian Institute including drawing, painting (oil, watercolor, acrylics) stained glass and art history. I have studied with Mike Francis, Kurt Schwartz and Steve Fleming at the Art League and Robert Stackhouse at the Corcoran.
In addition I have studied physics, optics and vision science, as well as, set design and electronics, all of which contribute to my choice of materials and overall approach

Since 2007 I have been in 20 juried Art League Shows and have won three honorable mention or equal merit awards. I have also exhibited pieces at Alexandria City Hall and National Harborplace.
In September of 2011, I presented a lecture on visual arts and the law at the Torpedo Factory Gallery, illustrated with a number of my paintings and 3 dimensional works.
